Abstract Expression of Fcγ-receptors (FcγRs) in different liver cells is poorly characterised. In the present study, transcription of FcγRs in different rat liver cells was examined by means of Northern blot analysis and reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reactions. We found that both Kupffer and liver endothelial cells produce mRNA for FcγRIIB2, FcγRIII and the γ-chain, whereas the level of FcγRIIB1 mRNA is negligible. In contrast, parenchymal cells produce no FcγR mRNA. Key words: Fc receptor, Kupffer cells, liver endothelial cells. f1To whom correspondence should be addressed.
